File Viewing Room

File Viewing Room

Any time during the regular courthouse hours of operation, you may visit the file viewing room in the Circuit Clerk’s Office to view files. The file viewing room provides space to view paper court files, digital files, and microfilm of the oldest court cases. Circuit Clerk staff are glad to assist you, and can make copies of documents for a small fee.

Rules for using the File Viewing Room are as follows:

  • Please do not take files apart; leave all documents tacked down. Do not remove any documents from the file.
  • Materials are provided for you to mark the pages you would like copied.
  • If you need copies of a document, place a paperclip on the bottom of the pages to be copied. The cost for copies is $2.00 for the first page, and 50¢ for each additional page.
  • Do not write on or otherwise deface documents in the court file. If you do, you may be charged with a crime.
  • Taking pictures of or scanning documents is prohibited. Please ask a staff member for assistance if you would like copies. For you protection, the File Viewing Room is under 24 hour video surveillance.
  • Some documents are available to view on microfilm. Please speak with Circuit Clerk staff for instructions.

Circuit Clerk staff are not attorneys and cannot interpret documents for you.
